ANOTHER BRIEF INTERRUPTION FROM DR. WO'B, Jr.

Garry Long has been our club's principal bass player since we started. His brother, Roger, a vocalist and rhythm guitar player since 1970, came to town and asked to sing some Roy Orbison songs with us. Although we usually perform only Beatles related material, since the Beatles did open for Roy Orbison on a tour of the UK back in 1963, we bent the rules a bit for Garry. Here's the grand result:

These next four videos were shot at
The Villages Music Showcase
on September 13, 2013.*

The Showcase ran all day, from 9:00am to 5:00pm in four different "theater" rooms at Savannah Center. Admission was free and open to everyone with a Villages ID. The event was sponsored by The Villages Recreation Department to, more or less provide an "audition" opportunity for 24 select Villages musical performing clubs and groups. The 2014 Showcase is scheduled (tentatively) for September 19, 2014... again an all-day event. If you have never, for example, attended a Dulcimer Symphony with close to 20 Dulcimerists (?sp) playing on key, on tempo and the same song at the same time, visit the 2014 Showcase. It's no coincidence the Dulcimers sound so fine... one of the lead dulcimerists, Linda Davis, is the wife of Gary Davis, Villager Guitarist Extraordinaire, who was the Music Director of our Club's 50th Anniversary live music performance band, plays lead guitar at most of our meetings, is involved in acoustic, electric and stone-carved guitar clubs throughout The Villages.

*MUSIC TRIVIA QUESTION: Also on September 13, 2013, another historic expression of talent, this one philosophical and intellectual (not musical) was published internationally about which artiste, putting the rest of the glitteratti to shame about their taste, maturity and geopolitical sensitivities, the author of which description having an impossible time trying to define a non-misogynistic "Divine Feminine"? Click here for answers.

I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND

Want some more???

We KNOW you want some more.

SHE WAS JUST SEVENTEEN

OKAY...okay... can't contain yourself, can ya???

Here's one more.

HARD DAY'S NIGHT
errr, PART of a night, anyway...
AND ANOTHER:
"IN MY LIFE"

For more great Beatles tunes,
live and in color,
come to a Beatlemaniacs Club meeting,
free and open to everyone,
every Friday morning, from 10:00am to noon,
Odell Recreation Center, The Villages, Florida.

But wait... but wait... for just extra handling and shipping, we'll send you best wishes and hope for staying on-key,
not missing a beat and everyone singing kumbaya
in a non-political, let the music bring us together
musical sense of the word.

BEATLEMANIACS CLUB

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Beatlemaniacs Club invites everyone with an interest in Beatles music -- that's what we play and share information about -- to attend Club meetings. Free and open. If you have an instrument, bring it to meetings and play when we all play. If it's electric, bring cords to plug into our PA system or bring your amp. If you sing, bring a mic and stand. No pecking order; no priorities; no hidden agendas; just no hard rock, heavy metal or grunge... unless it's a Beatles song of that genre.
We nurture each other musically, instead of eating our young or competing nastily with each other. The Club's objective and practice are to encourage small groups to form out of relationships found and built through involvement at Club meetings. So far, "3 for the Road", "Vinyl Recall", and "Golden Cover Band" are three Villages entertainment bands that formed out of those involvements. Check out the list of members on the YouTube videos who participated in the Beatlemaniacs session at The Villages Music Showcase to see how we support our members' musical dreams.
WHO ARE THESE BEATLEMANIACS?
The following January 9, 2013 Villages Daily Sun article gives a good description of the fun and enjoyment we have today with our memories and musical echoes of The Beatles as we listen, watch and play their music.
