SOME OF THE THINGS THAT MAKE THE BEATLEMANIACS CLUB A GENUINE "CLUB" OF COMMON INTERESTS, CONCERNS AND ENJOYMENT FOR MEMBERS

The Beatlemaniacs Club invites everyone with an interest in Beatles music -- that's what we play and share information about -- to attend Club meetings. Free and open. If you have an instrument, bring it to meetings and play when we all play. If it's electric, bring cords to plug into our PA system or bring your amp. If you sing, bring a mic and stand. No pecking order; no priorities; no hidden agendas; just no hard rock, heavy metal or grunge... unless it's a Beatles song of that genre.

We nurture each other musically, instead of eating our young or competing nastily with each other. The Club's objective and practice are to encourage small groups to form out of relationships found and built through involvement at Club meetings. So far, "3 for the Road" and "Vinyl Recall" are two Villages entertainment bands that formed out of those involvements.

Gary BrownWe also realize we're a generation of lifestyle transition, so the importance of personal relationships is heightened. The Club recently lost a good friend and member, Gary Brown.

Our July 5 meeting was organized by Gary's family and friends, inside and outside the club. It was a memorial to him, with the special presence of Gary's son, Sam, who was the drummer that day -- a superb drummer; great rhythm; quick uptake on new songs; consistent tempo; solid fills; drove the band. Sam played the entire session of songs. Our regular drummers were pleased to "give up their thrones" to Sam.

Gary's beloved left-handed 1966 Epiphone Casino guitar, the same model that was played by John Lennon and George Harrison on their 1966 tour, was sitting beside Sam representing Gary, as you see in the video below, the Beatles "Oh Darling," with Pam Blount lead vocal and keyboard.

BEWARE THE IDES OF SULLIVAN ! ! ! !

We had a special Beatlemaniacs meeting on Friday, March 15.

Several of our musicians who have authentic make and model Beatles instruments brought them to the meeting. Attendees saw, held, strummed and beat 'em... sort of.

WHO ARE THESE BEATLEMANIACS?

The following January 9, 2013 Villages Daily Sun article gives a good description of the fun and enjoyment we have today with our memories and musical echoes of The Beatles as we listen, watch and play their music.
