YOUR FORMER GROUP
WHENCE YOU CAME TO
THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA

Several people have asked if the BeatleManiacsRock.com website could post photos of present Villages musicians (active now or in the past) showing them in their former bands or links to the websites of their former bands.

If those of us who play on Fridays are not reluctant to appear live, we'll gladly accommodate those who would like to appear virtually.

Just email your digital images or links of your band's website, MP3s, YouTube videos or other digital memorabilia , and we'll post as much as we can... assuming none of the content approaches any Ozzy Osbourne-type entertainments. (Click this link for images of Ozzy's arrest photos.)

"DRY ICE"

Jim Fraser's Band

Dry Ice was a Massachusetts band that had a great future.

They had made several unreleased recordings, and they were getting bigger audiences and record label attention.

As Jim describes it:

"Our rhythm guitarist joined the Air Force, because he saw the writing on the wall. He knew he was about to be drafted, and that if that happened, he'd become a grunt and get sent to the front lines. He joined the Air Force and became a photographer. He was replaced by another, actually, very good guitarist. We played together for several months, and I quit the band at the urging of my then girlfriend. The band fell apart after that."

This YouTube video, "Mary Is Alone," remained unreleased for decades, until psych collectors began circulating a bootleg of their unissued songs.

Garry Long, Roger Long and The Country Classics

Roger Long covers 3 Roy Orbison Hits. Why is this image here:

Roy Rogers - King of the Cowboys

Two reasons:

Reason #1 - One of our club drummers (and our webmaster) was also born in Roy's hometown, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Reason #2 - For Reason #2, ask our club band's Bass play, Garry Long. It's a short story about a Long brother.

....okay, okay - Got me. Reason #3: Roy Rogers also played guitar and sang, even while riding Trigger.
